Eminent Cantate III  Specifications

Eminent DCS Series features the same computer systems and capabilities as our traditional church organs.  Consoles are built from solid wood and can be ordered with internal or external audio capabilities.  Stop actions on the standard DCS series use standard lighted rocker tabs for a significant cost savings.  Organs are available in either European BDO standards or American AGO standards (32 radiating concave pedal boards)

For example stop lists please refer to the 2 and 3 manual church organ pages above.

Eminent organs are built using the latest electronic digital technology.  Eminent's Digital Computing System offers a sound that is a natural and authentic representation of some of the finest wind blown instruments.  In fact, compared to the average pipe organ installation,  the Eminent has the capability to sound better.

Some distinct advantages of the Eminent over other systems are:

bulletReal Time Generation of the pipe sound.  These are not samples. The computer is actually producing the sound, live.
bulletTwo independent tonal concepts are included in each organ.  The organ can switch from a Baroque organ to a Romantic organ at the push of a button.  These are not merely cosmetic changes in the sound or color of any given stop, these are completely independent,  totally voicable stops.  As an organist, I can attest that the romantic side of the organ offers some wonderful possibilities for both choral work and hymn accompaniment.
bulletFlexibility. With the Eminent Voice Library option, you could easily have a Rohrflute 8' on the Great in the mode, and offer a Flute Harmonique 8' at the same stop position on the romantic side of the organ.  To give another example of the phenomenal flexibility offered, you could later change or voice the Rohrflute to any other pipe sound; chimney flute, holpijp - the options are endless.
bulletTotally independent voicing.  Each stop is voicable, note for note.  The hallmark of any pipe organ is its tonal success in the room.  Eminent organs are no different.  Our organs are built, one at a time, and completely voiced in a special echo free environment, but that is only part of the equation.  As with pipe organs, harpsichords, violins and any other musical instrument which is hand made, the ear and tonal expectations, or concept of the builder will render different results for each instrument from each builder.  So, it is reasonable to say that the human part of the equation affects the quality of sound as much as the physical properties of the instrument.

Once your organ is moved from the factory or shop, and into your worship space, auditorium, or studio, expect it to sound different. These are the laws of physics!  Chances are,  with the proper speaker selection for the room, your Eminent will sound pretty incredible, especially compared to other organs.  However, if you're as discriminating as I am,  custom voicing the organ for your room will  yield the most spectacular results.
bulletPipe like characteristics:  Pipe organs are truly wind instruments.  They breathe by means of bellows that expand with air.  The air pressure is regulated in the bellows by some force applying pressure on the bellows.  The bellows are expanded with air, much like taking a deep breath. When the keys are depressed, air leaves the bellows and goes to the pipe.  Without going into the details of pipe chest design,  on certain organs you can actually hear the organ breath as the wind fluctuates.   As the organ is played the wind in the bellows may vary slightly, depending on the demands of the organ.  This is called Winding.  The Eminent organ offers 3 distinct levels of winding to give the player a very realistic feel to the music.  The organist can actually replicate these characteristics on demand, ranging from the rock solid characteristics of many classic designs to the subtle nuances of the most articulate French, German, and Dutch organs.

Eminent's "wind robbing" feature makes a small variation in the pitch of the notes being played, dependent on the number of notes, their location on the keyboard, and the stops drawn. This dynamic movement of sound is a natural feature of every pipe organ.

bulletOne of inspirations of both listening to and playing a magnificent pipe organ in a spectacular worship space or concert hall, is the impact room acoustics play in the the final sound of the organ.  Eminent has also developed a digital reverberation system which creates a stunning acoustic environment that is unbelievably realistic.  This is probably the single biggest advantage that an Eminent organ would have over a pipe organ besides cost.  A pipe organ's success or failure as a rewarding and enjoyable instrument to both play and listen to, is often determined by the acoustical properties of its environment.  For many churches and almost all home studios, proper acoustics are usually non-existent.
